Our Story: Between a Rock and a Sanctuary

In 2019, Ash and I started Two Mom Sanctuary as an urban homestead and animal rescue in Salt Lake City’s Rose Park neighborhood. Over time, our desire to better understand and embody community and food-based resilience pushed us to dream radically. Today, that dream is unfolding in two places: our Salt Lake neighborhood’s Two Mom Sanctuary and our new regenerative River Jordan Farm in Virginia.

At our Salt Lake Two Mom Sanctuary site, we’ve developed a Subsidized Housing for Farmers Program that provides affordable, supportive housing for urban growers. Here, residents not only cultivate food and build essential skills but also save toward future homeownership. With seasonal food trades, donation drives, skill-share sessions, the Harvest Moon Market, and Pride Celebrations, our urban homestead is a lively hub of community creativity.

Our vision expands with River Jordan Farms in Virginia—a 48-acre piece of land that once was a cattle ranch and now holds the promise of reforestation, rewilding, and sustainable food production. Along with revitalizing the land, we’re launching an education exchange program this spring on our website. This initiative will connect urban and rural communities through workshops, job training, and community-building events, and we’re looking for participants, educators, and donors to help make it a success.

Stay connected with us as we build this bi-regional network of hope and resilience. Follow our journey on YouTube at @riverjordannetwork, and on Instagram at @twomomsanctuary and @riverjordanfarmva. Your support means the world to us—Venmo donations to @twomomsanctuary directly fund programming at both locations.

River Jordan Network is our way of contributing to what we hope is a broader movement—reimagining housing and agriculture as interconnected forces for positive change, rather than finite competitive resources. Together, we’re not just growing food; we’re cultivating a future where everyone has a place to call home and the opportunity to thrive. Join us on this journey. Your support makes all the difference.
